About

Located in Scottsdale, AZ Michael Joyce is originally from the Finger Lakes region of New York. Michael is a designer and craftsman who creates fine contemporary and traditional furniture, along with stunning architectural elements, and one-of-a-kind gaming tables: billiards, and table-tennis to name a few. Michael studied the craft of furniture design and construction with Gregor Scrogin founder of Gregor's Furniture, in Dallas, TX. Simultaneously, he studied carving with, Ludwig Kieninger noted Bavarian born sculptor who has work featured in churches and homes the world over.

Michael is an expert in interpreting designs in wood that translate the organic medium into a legacy of work, and has now brought that design expertise to the greater Phoenix metroplex.  He has drawn his inspiration from the  environment he was surrounded by as a youth, as well as the southwest regions of Arizona, Nevada, California's Central Coast, Santa Fe, and Scottsdale where he now resides. The landscapes, textures and colors of the natural world influence his designs and become part of the creative process.

Collectors of Michael's work possess pieces that transcend the medium.  They are designs that become timeless. Wood offers its own unique colorations and textures; qualities that provide a canvas that enhance nature’s palette. The result is furniture that is displayed as art. His collectors are individuals seeking a one-of-a-kind aesthetic. His work is in private collections in New York, California, Maine, Arizona, Texas, Nevada, and Louisiana.
