Steinbeck Tables
In 2013 the large cypress tree standing in front of the Lara Soto Adobe on the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey's campus was cut down by the city arborist. The adobe is an historic structure part of the buildings where renowned author, John Steinbeck, wrote his novel The Pearl.

A New Life /
Michael Joyce Studio approached the Middlebury Institute about reclaiming the tree so that it could find a new life as unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate the tradition of Steinbeck.
